We all know that Christian Bale is an amazing performer, but his work in this psychological thriller as a machinist suffering from extreme insomnia is just beyond. As he becomes increasingly sleep-deprived, this character begins to experience hallucinations and becomes increasingly paranoid.
Christian Bale lost a significant amount of weight for The Machinist, dropping down to just 120 pounds. This extreme weight loss not only made the actor look emaciated but also contributed to his portrayal of Trevor’s physical and mental decline throughout the film.
